Pearl Jam

Okay, I missed the VP debate tonight, but it was for a good cause. I was at the Moveon Pac benefit concert for America Coming Together at the Fox .

Pearl Jam was the featured act and they did not disappoint playing for more than 2 hours. They are a great live act, and seeing them at the Fox was very nice.

However, the surprise of the night came from Bob Roberts, the arch conservative former senator from PA. Who knew that he had a band and could sing? Today was his wife's birthday, so he called her on his cell phone and we all sang Susan happy birthday.

And finally, next Monday night the finale show of the Vote For Change concert will be broadcast on the Sundance Channel. The finale in Washington, D.C. will feature Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Dave Matthews Band, The Dixie Chicks, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, John Fogerty, John Mellencamp, Jurassic 5, Keb' Mo', Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Pearl Jam, and R.E.M. The concert will speak to our national aspirations as only songwriters can. In the words of Bruce Springsteen, "The country we carry in our hearts is waiting."
