Your Tax Dollars at Work

ABC News: Bush Ad Appears to Be News Story

Just as HHS did last year, now the Dept of Education is sending out Faux news stories promoting the No Child Left Behind plan.

If you're thinking that this might be a reasonable us of your tax dollars consider this:
The Education Department also has paid for rankings of newspaper coverage of the No Child Left Behind law, a centerpiece of the president's domestic agenda. Points are awarded for stories that say President Bush and the Republican Party are strong on education, among other factors.

That's right, the Dept of Ed is using your tax dollars to hire a PR firm to judge how well the PR "news piece" promotes BC04 and the RNC.

This has to be illegal.
