Kevin Drum cites a report that Howard Dean will be the new DNC Chair.
I'm still skeptical, but what do I know?
I agree with Kevin that Howard is a high risk choice, but not having a Washington Establishment guy is a good thing. If it is Howard, I just hope he's up for the job. I think Howard has a good vision of where we should be going as a party in the future, in terms of outreach, and he certainly understands that we need a vision and some principles, etc.
I am convinced that steering the party left is not a good idea, but I don't think Dean equals the party is moving left.
I don't think Howard was the leftist he was portrayed to be and I certainly have no problems with social liberals, being one myself.
Having said all this, I'm still skeptical. Gephardt was going to be the VP pick, if you will recall.
