According to Ed Henry at the CNN Political Ticker the McCain campaign has asked the Vice President of the United States to not attend the GOP Convention. Apparently, many in the McCain campaign wanted to bar the POTUS as well, but for reasons that seem obvious to me, that was not possible. So Bush will speak on the first day of the convention before McCain even arrives so as to insure they are not photographed together.
How far this dysfunctional family has come in such a short time. It seems like only yesterday the Congressional Republicans were following Bush like lemming over the cliff.
