a couple mea culpas

I need to get a couple mea culpas out of the way in one post.

First, I did misunderestimate Sarah Palin. Not her abilities, but the impact she has had on McCain's campaign. She's clearly energized the base and maybe taken a few states (Georgia and even Virginia?) out of play.

Second, let me apologize to Charlie Gibson who did a much more respectable job interviewing Palin than I would have ever thought him capable.
